• “Be a Space Scientist” at the Library!

Join us for “Be a Space Scientist!” in partnership with GSK and the Maine Discovery Museum. This hands-on program invites children to take on the roles of scientists and engineers as they explore the fascinating world of space science. Mark your calendars for two special dates: July 9 and July 30, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM each day. On July 9, become a Spacesuit Designer and test materials for UV protection and puncture resistance, and a Rocket Engineer to experiment with paper rocket models and launch angles. On July 30, step into the shoes of an Astrobiologist to detect Earth microbes and design tests for extraterrestrial life, and a Robotics Engineer to build a prototype of a rover’s scooping arm. This is a fantastic opportunity for children interested in space science, engineering, and hands-on learning to explore real-world careers through engaging activities. Registration is required for both days of the program, so secure your spot at the link below.

  • Interlibrary loan update

Why? The delivery of ILLs is managed at the state level, and the state library is in the process of switching to a different delivery company. While this transition occurs, which is expected to take at least 2 months, ILL service will be unavailable for all Maine libraries including MML. We apologize for the inconvenience and will be sure to let you know as soon as ILL service is restored.
