MOUNTAIN MODEL CELEBRATION ON MARCH 15th
Please join us on Thursday, March 15th to celebrate the completion of ten new terrain models for Baxter State Park. These new high-resolution, state-of-the-art 3D models were produced by the same company that makes terrain models for the National Geographic Explorers Hall and Smithsonian Institution. Friends of Baxter State Park coordinated and funded this project with the support of five generous donors, and donated the new models to Baxter State Park in December 2017. Now’s your chance to see these new terrain models before they are installed in their new homes all over the Park this spring. The models feature stunning aerial imagery, as well as trails, summits, campsites, and extremely accurate terrain. Come check out your favorite hiking and fishing spots as you’ve never seen them before! We’ll have several different models on display. This event will be at the Millinocket Memorial Library, from 5:00 – 7:00pm on Thursday, March 15th. All are welcome, and light refreshments will be provided.
