LIBRARY CLEANER

OVERVIEW

Millinocket Memorial Library (MML) is looking for a cleaner to perform essential regular cleaning tasks. Responsibilities include routine cleaning of public areas, restrooms, and meeting rooms; vacuuming, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and restocking supplies. The ideal candidate is dependable, able to work independently, and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness. This is a part-time (6-8 hours/week) contract position with a flexible schedule. The expected rate of pay is $16-20/hour, depending on qualifications and experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB DUTIES

  • Routine library cleaning including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, window cleaning, dusting, and bathroom cleaning
  • Expectation of at least twice-weekly cleaning of the library space, either in early morning or evening, when the library is closed

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have prior cleaning experience
  • Be comfortable working independently and completing cleaning tasks without supervision
  • Be a proactive communicator
  • Have strong attention to detail

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The position requires regular standing, reaching with hands and arms, climbing stairs and step stools, balancing, kneeling, crouching, lifting and carrying (up to 25 lbs).
