Mountain Model Celebration

MOUNTAIN MODEL CELEBRATION ON MARCH 15th
Please join us on Thursday, March 15th to celebrate the completion of ten new terrain models for Baxter State Park. These new high-resolution, state-of-the-art 3D models were produced by the same company that maFriends of Baxter State Parkkes terrain models for the National Geographic Explorers Hall and Smithsonian Institution. Friends of Baxter State Park coordinated and funded this project with the support of five generous donors, and donated the new models to Baxter State Park in December 2017. Now’s your chance to see these new terrain models before they are installed in their new homes all over the Park this spring. The models feature stunning aerial imagery, as well as trails, summits, campsites, and extremely accurate terrain. Come check out your favorite hiking and fishing spots as you’ve never seen them before! We’ll have several different models on display. This event will be at the Millinocket Memorial Library, from 5:00 – 7:00pm on Thursday, March 15th. All are welcome, and light refreshments will be provided.

About Alzheimer’s Disease
Alzheimer’s is a progressive disease of the brain that destroys brain cells, causing problems with memory, thinking and behavior. Alzheimer’s is the most common form of dementia, which is used to describe a decline in cognitive functioning.

Early treatment is best, but you have to know what you are treating. There are many things that can cause memory loss and it is important to be thoroughly assessed. While there is no cure, the best advice is to lead a healthy lifestyle and eat well.
